Design: Van Alen Books

The world seems to be moving away from books, but Van Alen Books is making a statement. Not only does the new bookstore boast interesting green design elements (recycled doors turned into shelf space, benches, staircases and more), it’s built on a belief that even in the age of kindles, “public spaces where people can meet and discuss [make] book stores relevant.” The project designed by LOT-EK was commissioned by the Van Alen Institute.
