The Fridge That Helps Plan Meals

You may have spotted one of our LTT Picks for 2010, the electronic milk jug that tells you whether the milk is fresh or sour. Here’s another concept to look forward to, a smart refrigerator that would create recipes based on the food stored inside it.

The fridge, a collaboration between University of Central Lancashire and online supermarket Ocado, can move food around on its shelves according to expiration date, scans its contents and could provide recipes based on what it finds.

Early last year, we did a post on another smart fridge design, with an opaque glass exterior that becomes clear the press of a button so the user can stare (and waffle) at the choices without having to open the fridge door.
