LTT Picks 2010: Bendy Bike
Another of our favorite concepts of 2010 was the Bendy Bike, the bike that doubles as a bike lock. Designed by Kevin Scott, the bendable bike has segmented sections that allows the bike to wrap completely around a pole, small tree and the like. A ratchet mechanism on the seat-tube cranks the segments tight, stiffening the frame so it can be ridden.
“Wrapping your bike around a lamppost” used to suggest some gruesome accident. But thanks to the Bendy Bike, it’s not always a bad thing.
